Abstracts may be submitted as a paper or a poster. Paper presentations require author attendance at the Annual Meeting in Denver. Posters will be displayed on electronic kiosks and do not require attendance.
Suggested Paper topics are as follows:
All paper and poster abstracts must be authored by a plastic surgeon/resident/medical student. Submissions from staff writers or company writing pools will not be allowed. All authors are required to disclose all relevant financial relationships or affiliations with pharmaceutical companies, biomedical device manufacturers or other corporations whose products or services are related to the subject matter of the presentation topic.
ASPS welcomes paper and poster submissions from our international members and colleagues as part of the Plastic Surgery 2011 Scientific Program.
Material presented must be original. No portion of abstracts submitted can be from previously published material, in any publication, in either print or online mediums.
Papers previously presented at local or regional meetings are acceptable. A paper presented orally at the Plastic Surgery Research Council or the Surgical Forum of the American College of Surgeons is acceptable only if the presentation was not published in an abstract supplement or book, in either print or online mediums.
Create your abstract text in a word processing program prior to beginning your online submission. Use that program to check the word count. Abstract text (which does not include title or authors) is limited to 375 words or less. Abstract text should not contain title or author information; these are specified elsewhere in the submission process. Abstracts not conforming to the prescribed format will not be considered for presentation.
Abstract text must include the following:
A maximum of 5 references will be accepted. All citations must be numbered and cited in numerical order in the text.
Please note that all information as you enter it will be used for publication. Please ensure correct spelling and consistency in format.
Relevant photographs/illustrations may be submitted to clarify and/or support the work. Adhere to the following technical points:
Alterations can be made to any part of the abstract until the submission deadline. Simply log in with the numerical user id and password provided by the system.
Online disclosures will be collected for all authors. Disclosures are required for all authors. Your submission will not be considered for review if disclosures are missing for any authors.
All sources of funds supporting the work and a statement of financial interest, if any, must be included for each author, along with a list of all products, devices, drugs, etc., used in the manuscript. All manuscripts must have all of this information.
Each author must disclose at the time of submission any commercial associations or financial disclosures that might pose or create a conflict of interest with information presented in any submitted manuscript. Such associations include consultancies, stock ownership, or other equity interests, patent licensing arrangements, and payments for conducting or publicizing a study described in the manuscript.
Notice of acceptance or non-acceptance will be forwarded to the presenter only. Presenters are responsible for notifying any co-authors. All correspondence will be sent to the email address listed for the presenter. Please check this email address regularly for submission updates and notify ASPS staff if it changes.
