In these days of medical liability crisis few topics are more controversial than the role of the physician expert witness. Love them or hate them, an expert witness’ testimony, when provided in a truthful and ethical manner, is a necessary component of our legal system. This panel will include information on why it is of critical importance to have reputable expert witnesses and the steps ASPS has taken and the tools it has developed to assist members in dealing with untruthful or unethical expert testimony. In addition, learn how one state, Texas, has tackled the issue and become the model for other states. | |||
