The herniated nipple areolar complex (NAC) or “domed nipple” may exist alone or more commonly as a component of the tuberous breast deformity. Degree of NAC herniation varies with extent of deformity and may be extenuated by breast augmentation in patients with tuberous breasts. Various techniques have been described to reduce the prominence of the domed nipple, illustrating the need to tailor the method of correction to degree of deformity. We describe a simple technique for treatment of mild NAC herniation, review other methods, and demonstrate patient examples.
