Panel: The Quality Movement: True Quality or Trojan Horse?
Objective(s): Learners will gain a better understanding of the quality movement in healthcare. Thought provoking questions will be discussed from the academic, insurance and regulatory perspectives. What does quality mean? How will the playing field be leveled around academic access to EMR versus grass roots practitioners? Will quality really be improved or will governmental costs simply be decreased? Who will pay? Vibrant discussion around these questions and the global quality issue will take place, promoting attendees to examine quality in their individual practice environments and plastic surgery at large.
