1. Author Qualifications
Abstracts are for CME and the primary authorship for all paper and poster abstracts must be by a plastic surgeon/resident/medical student. Submissions from staff writers or company/industry writing pools will not be allowed. All authors are required to disclose all relevant financial relationships or affiliations with pharmaceutical companies, biomedical device manufacturers or other corporations whose products or services are related to the subject matter of the presentation topic.
All correspondence is through email, you must provide valid/reliable email addresses. If your email is going to change between now and October, 2020 you must notify email@example.com of the new email address. Abstracts submitted without a valid email address will be removed from the system and not eligible for presentation.
Verify with co-authors that all author names are written exactly as you intend them to be published. Include highest-earned degrees.
ASPS welcomes paper and poster submissions from our international members and colleagues as part of the Plastic Surgery 2020 Scientific Program.
2. Abstract Qualifications
The top 200 abstracts and the top 25 posters accepted for presentation at PSTM20 will also be published in PRS Global Open. These abstracts will receive DOI numbers, be indexed in PubMed Central and SCOPUS, discoverable in Medline, and receive all of the archiving, alt metrics, and listing benefits of PRS Global Open articles.
Material presented must be original*. No portion of abstracts submitted can be from previously published material, in any publication, in either print or online mediums. If you publish your abstract in duplicate, you are committing an ethical violation of scholarly publishing, and are subject to punitive action including not being allowed to present, institutional notification and discipline, and possible retraction. If you submit your full-manuscript for possible publication in any Journal, it cannot be published before your accepted abstract podium presentation. To be safe, request that your article not be published before October 2020. The fully published version of your manuscript must cite, acknowledge, and reference the abstract published in PRS Global Open. Papers previously presented at local or regional meetings are acceptable only if the presentation was not published in an abstract supplement or book, in either print or online mediums.
To the authors of the accepted abstracts and posters I encourage you to write and submit a full-fledged manuscript based on your abstract. With this publication, I invite all abstract authors to submit these works to Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery or Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery-Global Open through Editorial Manager (PRS:www.editorialmanager.com/prs; PRS Global Open:www.editorialmanager.com/gox). Of course, this is not a binding request: we encourage you to submit your full paper to any Journal you so desire; all published literature in our field can help improve Plastic Surgery. The choice is yours, and we look forward to reading your final work soon.
*Surgical Practice Pearls: This category will offer speakers the chance to showcase practical and personal tips and tricks that they use to optimize their practice on a day-to-day basis. Presentations in this category will focus on concrete and practical things that a surgeon can immediately implement.
